Mounting the quick-clamping plates is uncomplicated and offers the customer significant time savings
Zimmer Group has developed a manual quick-clamping system that significantly increases efficiency in plastic injection molding. The system reduces machine downtime and minimizes the effort required for tool changes, which is crucial in flexible production processes. Instead of various tools such as screws and clamps, the machine setter only needs a wrench. This eliminates the time-consuming search for small parts, which saves up to 10 minutes per tool change.
The system consists of quick-clamping plates, a closing eccentric and a centering adapter. Thanks to its easy handling, the changeover process is quick and safe: the tool is centered on the nozzle side, the cooling connections are mounted, and after a few steps the machine is ready for use again. The precise fixing via clamping bolts ensures secure positioning of the tool.
The quick-clamping system not only reduces setup times, but also saves on tools, since centering rings, for example, are no longer needed. It also fits almost all machine types and is characterized by high stability and low wear. Thanks to the efficient utilization of the clamping surface (up to 30% higher utilization compared to claw technology), smaller machines can also be used. The low overall height of 30 mm allows the unproblematic use of heat insulation plates and enables work at high tool temperatures.
Overall, the manual quick-clamping system from Zimmer Group offers higher productivity, easy integration into automated processes and lower maintenance costs. This makes it the ideal solution for injection molding companies that want to increase efficiency and flexibility.
